. : October 2004 : .: MrBot takes a week off Friday, October 29 2004 Coincidentally MrBot decided to take this week off around the same exact time I got hammered with homework, a test, the release of an overhyped game at work, and the loss of a very important portable storage medium. It's now Thursday and things have died down a little bit but there just isn't time for a GOOD MrBot comic this week. However, I did finally fix all broken links and add content to certain sections, namely the profile section. Check it out if you wish. Oh there IS a comic this week. After filling out my absentee ballot from college a few days ago, I was in the political spirit for the election coming up this November. Therefore I have made my entry in the time honored "political comic" tradition. A tradition known for comedy so irreverent, SO witty and intelligent that you have to be teaching 2 courses at Yale and Harvard simultaneously to even grasp the underlying satire. Below is my first strip. Take note of the obscure references to Bush's views on foreign affairs. ![]() : Coping with Senility Sunday, October 24 2004 Another Sunday, another strip. This time I've finally chosen a style though. Nah, just kidding, it's different again. I made a few visual changes to the navigation and comic news so it doesn't look completely cookie cutter. Of course the broken links I claimed to fix are still broken, but that's mainly because a certain USB mini drive was sorta lost and it sorta had lots of important class assignment files on there. Check out the new strip and maybe sometime within the year, everything will be set up. : Power Up! Sunday, October 17 2004 Strip #2 is now up. You know where to find it. I would say I put a tad bit more time into this one. Of course that was not too smart considering all the mounds of homework I've been accumulating lately. But who am I to complain when I'm only doing one a week AND it was my decision to tell the story of a robot and a boy. I'll trudge along some more. Hopefully I'll find a style to manage both time and quality a little better. So check out the new comic and don't forget to read the description below it! By the way, I know I said that I would fix broken links and such but I just kept putting it off with trivial things like work and class. I apologize for my slacking. Hopefully NEXT update will square away all crapiness on this site...no I won't be deleting strip #1 jerk. : It's official, Con-trast is done. MrBot lives! Sunday, October 10 2004 "The Adventures of MrBot" has begun with strip #1 finally making its debute today! While it took much longer than it should have given the situations, I managed to get it all done with yet again, a little bit of help. Technically when you can't even upload the necessary files with your wacked out internet connection, someone else has to. Do me a favor and click the link that says "A shallow prelude" so you can get accustomed to the link being there. As of right now (2 AM), the COMICS link doesn't have anything on it and there are still a few broken links, but all should be remedied by tomorrow night. I'm looking to update the comic as often as possible, but I'm also realistic. Check back periodically when you can and enjoy the pointless first strip! : #1 is all set and ready to go but... Thursday, October 7 2004 Yeah, I have finally created the first installment of Con-trast's new comic "The Adventures of MrBot." UNFORTUNATELY due to previously mentioned FTP issues, I cannot set up the comic update script. If this problem isn't resolved in a couple days, I will just post a link to the comic itself. Once everything is set up I will try my darndest to pump out a comic every week. As far as Im concerned, the site has been in its beta stage ever since the beginning. With the launch of the comic I hope to eliminate ALL dead links and actually get the word out on this little site. It just sucks that an essential tool for this sort of thing is NOT ALLOWED at my college for which I am attending for a computer-related career. I'll keep the profanity down for the children for now, but there's no telling what the future holds! : October 1st? Is there really a comic coming? Friday, October 1 2004 Well yes and no, but actually not no, more like yes. Yes I have actually devised a basic storyline, characters, and numerous situations for the comic which will be announced within the coming months. When I say "coming months," I am basically giving myself a ton of time depending on whether or not my computer decides to get heart burn or accidentally ingest trans fats. I once wrote an article about oreos you know. Mr Robot and His Cantankerous Adventures on the Far Side of Eastern Wisconsin (and boy) DONT MISS IT! Also don't click that link about burning pigeons if it's still up there. Seriously that was just a dumb idea. Seriously, it's coming soon. I have a lot of homework and games :( |
